The Ukrainian president has accused Russia of trying to stage a fraudulent independence referendum in the partially occupied Kherson and Zaporizhia regions.
Zelensky urged Ukrainians not to hand over their personal data to the invaders.
“Be very careful about the information you give to the invaders. And if you are asked to fill out some questionnaires, or leave your passport details somewhere, you should know – this is not done to help you“, Said Zelensky.
Meanwhile the Foreign Ministers of Lithuania and Germany, Gabrielius Landsbergis and Annalena Baerbock, at a press conference in Vilnius on the war in Ukraine said they would not accept a dictatorial peace.
“There can be no ceasefire at any cost. We will not accept a dictatorial peace. Only Ukrainians will decide their future. “After we have consistently sought to achieve common security in Europe with Russia as a partner, Putin’s Russia is now forcing us to take a new course.”said Baerbock.
Landsbergis calls on NATO to increase its presence in Lithuania and other Baltic states.
“NATO must be prepared to defend the Baltic states from the first minutes of any conflict. To achieve this, more NATO troops must be deployed in Lithuania and other Baltic states. Germany’s support is extremely important in achieving such goals. Russia, with European money paid for energy resources, is saving its economy and recouping its losses from the war”.
Russia said Thursday it was closing the consulates of Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia in response to the closure of Moscow consulates in the three Baltic states over the attack on Ukraine.
