Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenksy kicked off his speech to the UN Security Council on Tuesday, recalling the victims of the Bucha massacre.
In a video link, Zelensky recalled all Ukrainian civilians who were tortured and then beaten by Russian soldiers. He said that they did not leave anything unattended, they did not even commit the rape of women in the eyes of children.
“Everything in memory of the civilians who died, who were shot and killed after torture. Some of them were shot in the street, others were thrown into wells, so they die, they are in suffering, they were killed in their flats, houses blown up with grenades. The civilians were crushed by the tanks as they sat in their cars in the middle of the road just for their own pleasure. They cut off the limbs, cut off their throats. Women were raped and killed in front of their children. There is not a single crime they would not commit. Yesterday I returned from our city Bucha, recently liberated by Russian troops not far from Kiev. So there is not a single crime they would not commit. The Russian army deliberately sought and killed anyone who served our country. They killed, shot and killed women outside their homes when they simply tried to call someone who was alive, they killed entire families, adults and children. They also tried to burn the bodies. ”
