The visits of Ambassador Yuri Kim to the building of the Special Prosecutor’s Office against Corruption and Organized Crime are already monthly. This is what happened this beginning of April when Ambassador Kim climbed the stairs of SPAK to meet with the head of the special prosecution Arben Kraja.
As always, the details of the face-to-face meeting are not made public, but once again through Twitter, Ambassador Yuri Kim does not spare congratulations and support.
Yuri Kim: “I met today the head of SPAK Arben Kraja to congratulate prosecutors and investigators for bringing more real results, on behalf of the Albanian public. “Increasing the number of investigations, bringing before the law and confiscating assets, etc., shows that no one is above the law.”
This next visit to Ambassador SPAK by Ambassador Kim comes a week after the arrest of former Secretary General of the Presidency and the Ministry of Environment Alqi Bllako, some officials accused in the incinerators file, while former Minister of Environment Lefter Koka was arrested earlier.
Yuri Kim: “The United States will continue to strongly support justice reform, including the work of the SPAK, to end impunity, prosecute corrupt officials, and those involved in organized crime by strengthening the rule of law. “This is necessary in order to meet the requirements of the EU and the need of citizens for justice.”
DASH Special Envoy for the Western Balkans Gabriel Escobar on Thursday, through his statement to Top Channel, hinted that the list of NonGrata persons would be added.
