Gerildjon Sinani from Berat is a student at the Faculty of Professional Studies of the University of Durrës.
Today, coincidence brought him closer to an early, previously unspoken desire to be part of the armed forces, a professional army by NATO standards that offers national security and engagement in important missions for global peace.
Gerildjon Sinani: “It’s my passion. “I want to learn how weapons are used and a lot of new things.”
He is not yet 19 years old but he is convinced that anyone who has reached the age of majority should perform military service as before.
Gerildjon Sinani: “The army should be forced. Who? Anyone who reaches the age of 18 to do one or 2 years in the army. A soldier himself, he also receives a salary. “
Secure work and a good salary offered by the military profession are not the main reasons for it. For him, the profession must be a passion. He feels confident in the skills and studies he has chosen, but sees engaging in the military as an opportunity to advance his desires and further fulfill the man he wants to become.
Gerildjon Sinani: “One should have as many professions as possible. It is never bad. A trained military man, a perfect electrical technician, a musician. A lot of things. “Normally I am ambitious otherwise I would not be here.”
Next month, he will undergo a test in Tirana and he hopes he will succeed.
Gerildjon Sinani: “I am a little afraid of testing, but with will and desire everything is achieved.”
