Yesterday, weapons and combat ammunition were found in a rented apartment, as a result two people were arrested in Tirana, one of them a former RENEA policeman.
Remal Rada 39 years old (former RENEA policeman) and Elton Hidhi, 28 years old, kept in the apartment in the area called “Old Headquarters” a firearm, a pistol, 13 different fixing and clamping devices such as those for weapons, combat ammunition, pistol holsters, 2 Police radios, a wave apparatus, two flashlights, one of them with the inscription “Police”, 4 knives, Albanian and foreign license plates, multifunctional vest with the inscription “RENEA”, optical target, 15 mobile devices and other items.
While yesterday, 1 sniper firearm, 1 pistol firearm, an automatic weapon magazine, 2 pistol combs, a quantity of combat ammunition, two pairs of terminal night binoculars and a police document were seized.
In the coded police operation “Double strike”, the items found in the apartment rented by the 39-year-old were found and seized.
The additional materials were passed to the Prosecution, for further procedural actions, for the criminal offenses “Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition”, “Unauthorized possession of cold weapons” and “Unlawful possession of uniform”.
