Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha is in Elbasan to participate in the Summer Day Fair. In his speech before the media, he was asked if he would sacrifice only for the ideal of the DP, given that Basha has agreed to take a step back, but Berisha does not seem to agree with this opinion.
Berisha says that they are staging a confrontation, but all they will do is leave the bluff in their hands. Among other things, he adds that the celebration of Summer Day is the celebration of great transformations, of the opening of all good things.
Berisha: I wish the citizens of Elbasan who have the great merit that they kept alive this wonderful holiday and today Elbasan is called the capital of the holiday, the capital of the country. I wish all Albanians, the holiday of Summer Day is the holiday of great transformations, of the opening of all good. In this context, I wish that this day brings to Albanians the great change they are looking forward to. I have a heartfelt wish for those hundreds of thousands of citizens who have filled the streets and squares of the country’s cities to protest against a cynical, heartless policy, which uses the shadows of war as a pretext to justify the dramatic, absolutely unjustified rise in prices of the most vital products of Albanian citizens.
This will be the spring of the great efforts of democracy and absolutely the most brilliant message is the unification of Democrats around free voting and the ideals of freedom.
Question: There are those who demand the removal of Berisha, would you sacrifice yourself only for the ideal of the DP?
Berisha: I am not defending anything but free voting. There is an attempt to bridge the gap between free voting and bluffing, but to those who do, we will leave the bluffing in hand.
