In the meeting held yesterday afternoon, outside the Dibër Municipal Council, the new mayor of Dibër, Rahim Spahiu, was sworn in, coming out of the March 6 local by-elections.
Spahiu takes this 1-year mandate, after the resignation of Dionis Imeraj who ran for MP in 2021, and did not win.
The ceremony was opened by Prefect Nexhbedin Shehu and then the chairman of the Municipal Council Sokol Sava read the formula of the Oath. Then they went to the mayor’s office where he was officially taken over by the former / commanding mayor Shkëlqim Murrja.
The CEC announces on Thursday the final result of the March 6 local by-elections held in six municipalities. In Debar, the candidate of the Socialist Party Rahim Spahiu won with 13,995 votes.
