The Albanian women’s national team has achieved an excellent victory against Armenia in the eliminators of the World Cup “Australia – New Zealand 2023”, which was played today at the stadium of the Armenian cities Amavir.
The red and black representative triumphed with the result 4-0 and made a very good game, thus climbing to the quota of 10 points in Group F of the qualifiers, a historic record for Albania women in international competitions.
The team led by coach Armir Grima started the match quite well, unlocking the result in the 13th minute through captain Megi Doçi, who scored a beautiful goal from the penalty spot. The latter finds it very easy to score the second personal goal and fix the figures at 4-0. In the 76th minute, Albania has a good chance for the fifth goal, when the referee awards the penalty after an irregular intervention in the area against Krasniqi. Doçi’s shot from the white spot is deflected by the Armenian goalkeeper and following the action Gjini hits, but the ball bumps into the vertical post.
Meanwhile, coach Grima makes some substitutions by throwing Tukaj, Metala, Lufon, Borci and Methoxha on the field of play, while the red and black girls constantly create chances for a goal, but without managing to score until the end. The challenge closes with the result 4-0 for Albania, which thus gets a valuable victory in the transfer.
