MEPJ reaction:
In the Representation of the Republic of Albania in Paris, as well as other representations, from time to time, in irregular periods of time, passports, identity cards and driving licenses are deposited by the prefectures of the police or police commissariats, thrown, lost and recovered or seized Albanian citizens, accompanied by the relevant lists of names.
These obsolete documents are submitted to the Representation after a collection period, periods which can range from a few weeks to several years.
These documents, after being received by the Representation, are sent to the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs. Due to their relatively large volume, postage costs and the fact that they are old or obsolete documents, these documents, over 20 years old, are sent through a licensed road carrier, accompanied by verbal notes from the Representation and with lists of document names.
This practice is not followed only by the Albanian representations.
In no case has there been any problem with the transport of documents and these have been submitted correctly to the MFA, which forwards them to the Ministry of Interior.
We emphasize once again that these are old and obsolete documents.
