The White House has stated today that Russian President Vladimir Putin feels he has been deceived by his military advisers, which has resulted in ongoing tensions between him and his military leadership.
“We believe Putin is being misinformed by his advisers about how poorly the Russian military is performing and how the Russian economy is being crippled by sanctions, because his top advisers are too afraid to tell the truth.” said White House Communications Director Kate Bedingfield.
She said it was becoming increasingly clear that the Russian occupation of Ukraine had been a “strategic mistake” that would leave it weaker in the long run.
Bedingfield also said the U.S. has continued to see evidence today of Russian aggression and advancement in countries where they had previously said they would not do so.
