Ukrainian authorities say they have managed to transfer 71 children from an orphanage in Sumy to a safer area.
The babies had been sheltered in a bunker for the past few weeks.
“At the first opportunity to evacuate through the humanitarian corridor, we picked up the children from the orphanage specializing in the combat zone“, Said Dmytro Zhyvytskyi, the governor of the region.
He has shared photos of the children on Facebook.
“These are children who do not have parents and most of them need constant medical care,” he added.
