The Commissioner of the European Union for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi, has welcomed today’s vote in the Macedonian assembly, which approved the French proposal to resolve the impasse with Bulgaria.

We are looking forward to the opening of North Macedonia’s membership negotiations, as we meet on Tuesday in Brussels, Varhelyi wrote in a Twitter status.
