The testimonies of people found inside the PD building in support of President Lulzim Basha repeat that they were called for a meeting by the party chairman and quite suddenly they were attacked by numerous supporters of former Prime Minister Sali Berisha, who some weeks ago he had called a national protest in front of the blue headquarters.
But according to the investigation, it is alleged that suspicions that they may have thrown tear gas can make Basha’s supporters suspicious, as well as the protesters outside the building who, after breaking the door and windows of the first floor, are suspected, among other things, of destroying the property.
Resources for the journalist Anila Hoxha show that one of the persons arrested by the police, who was inside the building of the PD headquarters, has indicated that he arrived at the headquarters at 08:30 accompanied by Luan Hoti and Orion Meta. He explains that he went there after being called for a meeting by President Basha. Luke reveals that while waiting for it to start, he heard some noises coming from outside.
Upon hearing the first noises, he decided to go down to the first floor of the building and there he noticed that the main entrance of the building of the PD headquarters was being attacked from outside. Then he decided to climb once again to the second floor of the building and there he joined Luan Hoti and MPs Ervin Salianji and Grida Duma and several other people.
Luku has denied that there was violence from people inside the DP, but stated that the beatings were seen and heard coming from outside.
Another person, a supporter of President Basha, named Indrit Sefa, claimed that he did not take part in any illegal action.
Also, Orian Meta explained that he arrived at the PD headquarters at 08:30, together with Luan Hoti and Steve Luku. He stated that he was in the PD building, waiting for the meeting to start when he heard noises coming from outside. The prosecution thinks Meta may have been involved in the violence, but nothing of value to the investigation.
Decision Demaj has shown that he arrived at the headquarters of the Democratic Party around 08:30 waiting for the start of the meeting but in those moments he heard some noises coming from outside. He went down and saw that the main entrance was being attacked from outside.
Recall that security measures for the 34 detainees of the violent protest of January 8 are expected to be given tomorrow at 10:00.
It has not been decided yet who will be the judge, while Arben Micko is expected to be, as the judge who was drawn, Rexhina Merlika, has a medical report.
While for 5 people “House arrest”. Among the arrested persons are also citizens from Kosovo.
According to the accusations that have been filed, it turns out that 11 of those arrested are supporters of Basha and 23 others of Berisha.
On Saturday, the Democratic Party headquarters was violently attacked by Sali Berisha supporters who responded to his call to protest the removal of leader Lulzim Basha.
Protesters tried to force open the armored doors and broke the windows. Police immediately intervened to disperse the crowd, where tear gas was also used.
