At the meeting of the SP parliamentary group, which marks the start of the majority procedure for the election of the new president of the Republic, the Socialist leader Rama started with accusations against Ilir Meta, while explaining the vote in parliament to take him to head the institution.
“We had the votes to elect the President and we were in an extraordinary political dispute if we take into account that there was no official opposition in the hall and on the other hand our will and desire was for our election to fall on someone who could represent the opposition. And in those conditions we elected a president for the opposition, but thinking that he would also be a president for Albania. The flow showed the opposite for Albania and id ha country a president who was the worst example of the worst opposition that this country has had.
Today we are in different conditions, and we are facing a challenge that we must see as a great responsibility and not as an easy opportunity to impose on the country a president who would simply successfully fulfill half of the political framework of Albania.
We need a common president paving the way for everyone here, in a confidential process. “We can not name names that later become meat for the ball, gossip and gossip.” said Rama.
