The farmers of Cerma came out again in protest, as they complain that the watermelon is being sold below cost.
This protest on Monday was also joined by the farmers of Imshta in the municipality of Lushnja.
They complain that the price at which they are selling it, 80 lek per kilogram, is quite low and in this way they cannot even cover the production costs.
In support of the farmers, the deputy of the area, Erion Braçe, also joined, who accused the merchants of the collection points of having agreed to buy the production at a low cost to the detriment of the farmers.
Braçe also made his socialist government, specifically the Ministry of Finance, responsible for this situation.
The MP proposed that the state build collection points, removing the monopoly from private traders.
