Water toys are fun for children, but as they are marketed outside the standards in our country, they become dangerous for their health.
The State Market Surveillance Inspectorate during inspections in the capital found 2,000 children’s toys, including bouncers, balls, water pistols, plastic cars, that were sold outside European standards.
The blocked items are listed in the European Commission’s rapid information exchange systems as dangerous products with an impact on children’s health. They contain chemicals and can cause choking, cuts or other injuries to children.
The CE marking must be placed in such a way that it cannot be erased and of a size not smaller than 5 mm. ISHMT urges consumers to be careful when choosing children’s toys.
