After the interruptions of the excavations in the Staval Mine in Serbia, Kosovo is using the atmospheric conditions offered by the summer season, to dig inside its territory.
The Government Commission on Missing Persons has already identified six locations. The work that will be done during June is expected to clarify the fate of many people who were killed and disappeared by Serbian forces.
Since the last war in Kosovo, the fate of over 1600 Albanians is still unknown.
