US National Security Adviser Jake Sullivan said today regarding the nuclear stance of Russian President Vladimir Putin that nothing has been done for the US to change its nuclear stance.
“We are looking at this extremely closely, and obviously the risk of escalation with a nuclear power is serious and it is a kind of conflict different from the other conflicts the American people have seen over the years,” Sullivan told.
He said the US is constantly monitoring the situation in Ukraine and that this is a top priority for the US President.
“And the American president, Joe Biden, must take this responsibility extremely seriously, even though we redouble our efforts to support the Ukrainians. As things stand today, the United States has not adjusted our nuclear stance, but it is something we monitor. “Day after day, hour after hour, because it is a top priority for the President,” Sullivan added.
He also said that the Russian attacks in Lviv, approximately 12 miles from Ukraine’s border with Poland, are a sign that Putin and his military forces are not making progress in achieving their intended objectives.
According to him, the fact that Russia has not had the intended result against major Ukrainian cities, shows the expansion of its objectives by attacking and destroying every country.
