The footage shows the moment when the fire broke out at the Ukrainian nuclear power plant after the attack by Russian troops. Thanks to the urgent intervention of firefighters, it was possible to extinguish the flames and no casualties were reported.
The attack took place in the early hours of March 4, and officials in Ukraine reported that Russian forces had bombed a nuclear power plant in Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.
This is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Confirming the fire, Ukrainian Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba wrote on Twitter that the Russian army was “firing from all sides” at the complex of this nuclear power plant. He warned that a catastrophe there could be worse than that of Chernobyl in 1986.
According to the State Emergency Service in Ukraine, the fire broke out in a facility that served as training and so far no increase in radiation level has been observed around.
