In today’s meeting of the Municipal Council of Tirana, the mayor Erion Veliaj, has announced that from May 1, the Municipality of Tirana will start providing online services in administrative units.
Out of 60 offices that currently operate in the service of citizens, Veliaj said that 40 will be closed and will remain open only utility services, which can not be offered online, such as celebrations, oaths, etc.
“We will use it every day, until May 1, to communicate this new platform for closing physical counters in the Municipality of Tirana, which take time from people. Many of the services offered on them will be taken online. I want each of you to communicate in the area where you serve as a member of the Municipal Council, for all these services, which you can get from home with just one click, without the need to come to the doors of the municipality or Administrative Unit. , said Veliaj.
According to him, it is a sin for citizens to spend time in unnecessary queues for services that are solved by technology. “Time is what matters most to each of us, it is the only thing we can not turn back. If we add up the waiting queue hours in a year, there may be enough days to do a lot of things. But we spend them waiting in unnecessary queues. “Now he receives services from his mobile phone,” he declared.
Veliaj also underlined the fact that there will be no reduction in the number of employees in the service offices, as they have already been trained and will move to serve online.
“There are services that we can not perform online, such as wedding celebrations, where the couple and two witnesses must be present, and the exchange of promises must be administered by the mayor or the head of the Administrative Unit. Also, the oath of foreign citizens who obtain Albanian citizenship can not be performed online because the person must physically swear before the mayor for loyalty to the Constitution of Albania. “But, obtaining a birth certificate, a marriage certificate, a trunk certificate, certificates that are already part of the e-Albania database, can be easily obtained online,” he said.
The documents that will be provided online from May 1 by the civil status offices are:
1. Personal certificate from 2010 onwards
2. Current family certificate from 2010 onwards
3. Certificate from the birth certificate from 2010 onwards
