The Mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj, said that the reconstruction process is moving fast, to catch up with the time lost as a result of blockages. “We will not line up any summer day! We will work to catch up on lost time. When I say to catch the lost time, the word is that, as happened in Astiri and “5 Maji”, here in Kombinat we had over 20 trials and blockades inspired mainly by political parties that live in Lalz, but they are ready to get people into quarrels among themselves, to sow uncertainty, to sow false news, and to urge people to endless trials. We have won all the trials! As you saw, the whole territory of the Kombinat area has been liberated and we have started with new foundations. In some parts we have walked and we will be ready to house the first families this year “, said Veliaj.
The mayor assured that the rent bonus for the affected families will continue until they receive the keys to the new apartments. “We will continue to give the rent bonus until all the apartments are ready and the residents receive the keys in hand. The fact that all the buildings have indoor gardens, playgrounds, green spaces is fantastic news. Here they will have an underground parking, to guarantee parking for each apartment and each family, of course then also the service area. “We will build a community with more quality and, of course, more security,” he added.
Veliaj called on political parties not to play with people’s lives. He underlined that time has shown that those forces that have tried to block the affairs of the city, not only did not win any pair of elections, but then degraded. “Human life is more important than anything else! When the political parties, which themselves reside in Lalz, say to the citizens: ‘Stay, do not move from the damaged buildings’ – which, as we have seen, fell easily with one blow – they want to take people by the neck. I ask all political parties, first: No one has won votes by blocking – neither the toy corner at the Lake, nor the “Skënderbej” square, nor the New Bazaar, nor “5 May”. Second, not only does it not win votes, but on the contrary, parties that incite this hatred among each other and block public affairs are degrading more and more. My advice is: let us work! ”, Stressed the Mayor.
Veliaj stated that politics can not be done with lost lives. If we had not been late for either “Shqiponja” or “Astiri” and in many of our projects, Tirana would have become a flower today. It is many times better than it used to be, but it could be even better if we catch the rhythm and do not put knives and knives behind each other. Politics is not done with people’s lives, nor with their well-being. “There should be only one policy: one that cooperates with the community and the municipality to move forward”, underlined the mayor.
Reconstruction work is also ongoing in rural areas. Veliaj assured that within this year the history of reconstruction there will be closed. “We have done much better in other rural areas. When you have a large, state-owned field, of course the work goes faster. When you have a contamination of politics with occupation, with properties, with the courts, of course the work goes slower. “We will soon inaugurate the new houses in the new village in Zall-Herr, to be followed by Peza and Baldushku,” he added.
The plant will be a new pole in the capital, not just with new housing for families affected by the November 26 earthquake. All apartments are contemporary, intertwined urban squares, educational facilities, which increase the quality of life in this new neighborhood.
