Mayor Erion Veliaj has finally won the court battle, also in the Special Court of Appeals, with the brother-in-law of the chairman of the Democratic Party Lulzim Basha, Erion Isufi.
The latter had sued Veliaj more than a year ago for defamation, for the ownership of 4 villas in luxury resorts in Lalzi Bay and Long Hills in Tirana.
After the victories with Grida Duma and Jorida Tabaku for defamation in court, Veliaj has won the next trial with Basha’s brother-in-law in the Special Court of Appeals, as he failed to prove that Veliaj’s statements a year ago, that Lulzim Basha owns 4 villas and had applied to the municipality for the 5th villa, were untrue.
This decision of the Special Court of Appeals, which like the SPAK rejected the claims of Basha’s brother-in-law, in fact, indirectly confirms that Veliaj’s statements were correct and that the villas in question exist.
