Tirana as the European Youth Capital for 2022 will be a good opportunity not only for young people from Albania, but also for those from the region.
To concretize the joint initiatives, the Mayor of Tirana Erion Veliaj received in a meeting the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Montenegro, Đorđe Radulović with whom he discussed the increase of cooperation in various fields such as tourism, start-ups. etc.
“We appreciate very much the special neighborhood we have with Montenegro, we want this friendship to be translated into the level of mayors and our youth,” said Veliaj. The Mayor said that 2022 will be an excellent opportunity not only to promote the youth of Tirana, but also the youth of the entire region.
“I am sure that in Ulcinj, Podgorica, in Bar and Tuz there are fantastic young people who are doing wonderful work. It may be those who deal with environmental issues like Lake Shkodra we talked about, it may be those who deal with human rights, who promote tourism, start-ups, so I look forward to having this cooperation next year between “The youth of Montenegro and Albania and I hope that the best days for our region are ahead”, he underlined.
As a sign of friendship between the two countries, the Mayor of the Municipality Erion Veliaj handed over to Minister Radulović the “Clock Tower” of Tirana.
Montenegrin Foreign Minister Đorđe Radulović thanked Mayor Veliaj for his support and invited him to pay a visit to Montenegro. “Thank you from the bottom of my heart for this beautiful gift. We are not just neighbors but we are friends, allies and partners and I hope that from now on we will have more frequent visits and you are more than welcome to come to Montenegro.
