Although declining significantly, experts of the Technical Committee warn that we are not in a situation where masks and other restrictions can be removed which in Albania in fact only result on paper.
According to Skënder Brataj, the percentage of vaccination of the population does not allow the removal of restrictions. Currently only 55% of the target population have been vaccinated.
For Brataj the figures are expected to suffer another decrease, but he is afraid of mutations that may arise. And in countries with low levels of vaccination, including Albania, exposure to new strains remains a risk.
We are now in a situation where citizens and businesses are increasingly demanding the removal of restrictions, due to declining figures. This has even influenced the citizens not to even go and be vaccinated, claiming that the virus is leaving.
But with a vaccination rate of 44% of the entire population it seems that the decision of the Technical Committee of Experts to lift the measures will not be imminent.
