US Vice President Kamala Harris visited Poland today, where she also met with Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki and Polish President Andrzej Duda.
The meeting was intended to demonstrate the United States’ commitment to regional security. Harris said the US is prepared to defend every inch of NATO territory.
“What is at stake, right now, are some of the guiding principles around the NATO alliance. “In particular, the issue of the importance of protecting the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and in this case Ukraine,” Harris told a news conference.
Harris said her presence in Warsaw was a signal of US commitment to the military alliance.
“I am here in Poland as an expression of stable and important relations, which, again, has been long, but especially for the issue of Ukraine is unified and it is clear: we will do everything together in partnership, in solidarity to support. “What is needed at this very moment in terms of the humanitarian and security needs of Ukraine and the Ukrainian people,” she said.
Harris sought to strengthen cooperative ties between the United States and Poland over the supply of fighter jets to Ukraine.
“I want to be very clear. “The United States and Poland are united in what we have done and are prepared to help Ukraine and the people of Ukraine – the end,” Harris said.
