The U.S. Department of Labor today withdrew its disputed request for vaccination or testing of employees of large companies, following the blocking of the procedure by the US Supreme Court, ending the despicable push to increase the percentage of vaccinations.
The US Occupational Safety and Health Administration said in its federal register that it was withdrawing the “provisional emergency standard” but that the rule would remain a “permanent requirement” proposal.
“The agency continues to strongly encourage the vaccination of employees against COVID-19 in the workplace,” the statement said.
President Joe Biden introduced some rules in the fall aimed at boosting the vaccination rate in the US, which currently according to authorities stands at 74%.
The obligation to vaccinate companies with at least 100 employees was blocked by the Supreme Court this month, which at the same time allowed the federal request to vaccinate employees in health care facilities.
A similar Biden administration order for forced vaccination of U.S. federal administration employees was blocked by the Supreme Court in December.
Although the court has ruled that the federal administration does not have the authority to request compulsory vaccination, it has upheld the measure imposed by individual states, local governments or businesses./ Reuters /
