According to Bloomberg News, which is based on an official whose name is not disclosed but who knows the report in question, it is said that the findings of the report show the Crown Prince, Bin Salman.
Also according to the news, in the report compiled mainly by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA), the Directorate of National Intelligence (DNI) and with the contribution of other intelligence institutions, it was concluded that the Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman has approved the assassination of journalist Khashoggi in October 2018 at the Consulate of Saudi Arabia in Istanbul.
Details of Bin Salman’s role in the crime will be presented in the report, it is further stated. The report, which has not been made public since 2018, could have a major impact on US-Saudi relations.
According to the American media, the DNI report in question is expected to be announced to the public today.
Meanwhile, in other news in the American media related to the case, it is said that in addition to Bin Salman’s approval for the murder, the report will also publish the findings that he is the possible person who gave the order.
Jamal Khashoggi, a columnist for the Washington Post and known for his opposition to the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, entered and left the Saudi Arabian Consulate in Istanbul on October 2, 2018. U.S. President Joe Biden held a telephone conversation with Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz yesterday, but the White House statement did not provide details on whether Khashoggi’s assassination was discussed.
