The United States has declared former Ecuadorian President Abdala Jaime Bucaram Ortiz “non grata”.
The notification from DASH states that this decision comes after being involved in the misuse of public funds, taking bribes and interfering in public processes.
“During his tenure as president of Ecuador, Bucaram was involved in numerous corrupt acts, including bribery and theft of public funds. “Former President Bucaram has not yet been held accountable for his betrayal of public trust,” the statement said.
