In a conversation with journalists, Prime Minister Edi Rama said that in yesterday’s meetings with the Secretary of State, Antony Blinken, he also spoke about the deepening of the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo.
The head of government added that the US administration has 100% supported the ‘Open Balkan’ initiative.
“I should not rush, nor talk ahead of time, about things that are in the process, we are preparing them and we will see very carefully how we can put them on the table. We know our position, we are very supportive of dialogue. We have discussed this with the Secretary, the need to deepen the dialogue between Serbia and Kosovo, and to reach a long-awaited end to this endless conflict. “I am very pleased that the administration has supported the Open Balkans. It is 100% in support of the Open Balkans, I am convinced that in the coming months we will have new things for the Open Balkans,” Rama said.
Further, the head of government said that with the US there are two ‘lanes’ of cooperation; one for investments in the field of defense and the other for economic cooperation between the two countries.
“We have two cooperation lanes with the United States. There is an agreement in the field of defense, the military one, there have been new things constantly. Defender 21 has been a success story that will be repeated, investments will continue. The other lane is that of economic cooperation, we have an incentive from Washington of European companies to enter Albania. We talked to the secretary about strengthening economic cooperation, there is an increased interest from the Americans to increase the economic presence in Albania. The axis of cooperation is what it has been! “, Said Rama.
