A UNICEF spokesman said 1.5 million children had fled Ukraine to escape the war.
Most of the refugees have taken refuge in neighboring countries.
“At least 1.5 million children have fled Ukraine because of the Russian attacks,” said Joe English, a UNICEF spokeswoman.
He added that another 3.3 million have been internally displaced, according to CNN.
“Each of them is an individual child, whose life has been shattered, their world turned upside down,” English said.
At least 150 children have been killed and 160 injured since the start of the Russian occupation of Ukraine, according to the UN agency.
Ukraine has been at war for 25 days causing numerous deaths, injuries and evacuations.
