A disgruntled owner of a Tesla car in Finland blew up his car with 30 kilograms of dynamite. This is because of the huge expenses he made to maintain it. According to the British newspaper “Daily Mail”, Tuomas Katainen bought a Tesla Model S in 2013.
For the first eight years he felt proud to lead it. But then he often spent to buy spare parts, the cost of which was high, he says.
Initially he had problems with the electric vehicle software affecting the instrument panel. Then there was a malfunction in the “Autopilot” system. And when he had to ask for a trailer to take him to the nearby Tesla service center, he decided to protest the excessive cost of spare parts.
After the car was left for service, a month later he received a call from the company engineer informing him that the battery had to be replaced as the problem could not be solved and its cost reached 20,000 euros.
Enraged, the Finn decided to blow up Tesla using 30 kilograms of dynamite. Before blowing it up, the owner put in the car a dummy of Tesla CEO Elon Musk.
His Finnish driver, as well as some of his acquaintances, saw the car burning in an old quarry in the village of Jaala, in southern Finland.
” Nothing is left of the explosion , ”He said. But he did not hesitate to express the joy of becoming the first person in the world to blow up a Tesla.
