Chris Noth will no longer be part of the drama series “The Equalizer”, as he is charged with sexual harassment.
Universal Television and CBS reacted immediately, announcing that the actor will no longer be part of their cast.
The 67-year-old was charged with rape by two women. One of them said he was only 22 years old when Noth, then 49, sexually abused him.
The first attack is suspected to have occurred in 2004, while the second is said to have occurred in 2015, three years after Noth married his wife, Tara Wilson, with whom he has two children.
Both women claim the attacks took place at one of Noth’s homes, the first at his Los Angeles apartment and the second at his New York property after the actor invited them. They have confessed to the media that the news of the resumption of “Sex and the City” evoked painful memories of their meetings with Noth.
The Equalizer tells the story of Queen Latifah and follows ‘an enigmatic figure who uses her vast abilities to help those who have nowhere to turn’.
In a statement to The Hollywood Reporter, Noth, who has two sons, strongly denied any allegations that he had sexually assaulted them.
