PD MP Ina Zhupa asks the President of the Republic not to decree the law “On the approval of the agreement for the administration of sub-zones of cultural heritage and cultural landscape, part of the Butrint National Park, between the Ministry of Culture and the Butrint Management Foundation”.
In a letter to the head of state, Zhupa writes that this law is unconstitutional because it contradicts the 1972 Paris Convention
“The law is a concessional form, which produces a model of private administration with full rights over Butrint and that the models presented by the ministry as a reference for the management of Butrint have nothing in common with the law.
“This is a model that does not exist in any other country in the world,” Zhupa continued in her letter to President Meta.
Zhupa emphasizes that the law divides the management of the park into two parts, contrary to UNESCO’s definitions of management as a whole.
“This division opens the way for constructions inside and outside the A3 zone,” the Democratic MP wrote, adding that the law endangers the Albanian history and the Albanian national identity.
