Ukrainian Alex Dayrabekov fled Bucha when the war in Ukraine started.
He has documented what is happening in the city on social media, in the hope that it can be used as evidence in criminal trials.
“My neighbors, there are at least 10 of them, lost their closest relatives in trying to evacuate Bucha and Irpin about a month ago.”he says in an interview with the BBC.
When asked why he posts images from Bucha, he replied: The whole world should see them. If the world does not know what is going on here, the world is doing business as usual. Thousands of people died here… because they were deliberately killed.
In one story, he describes a horrific clash between Ukrainian civilians and Russian forces.
“Two cars in Bucha were shot by an armored vehicle with automatic weapons. In a car, a whole family, a man, a woman and two children. The woman and both children were shot and died on the spot. In another car, a spouse was killed on the spot. These are real people, this is not a lie.
“The whole world should see these pictures and know that this is not a war, this is a massacre against our nation, as Hitler did in World War II. “Putin is doing this to us, against the Ukrainians.”
