The Mariupol City Council has announced through a statement that since the start of the Russian occupation in Ukraine more than 2,187 inhabitants of this city have been killed.
Local besieged Mariupol officials said the city has been under bombardment without essential services and supplies for nearly two weeks. According to them at least 22 Russian attacks have taken place in the last 24 hours in the city alone.
“People have been in a difficult situation for 12 days. There is no electricity, water or heating in the city. There is almost no cellular communication. “The last supplies of food and water are running out,” said a statement.
Recent satellite photos show major damage to the city’s residential and civilian infrastructure.
