Ukrainian forces have destroyed 50 Russian ammunition depots using the HIMRAS missile system, which Washington provided to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Defense Minister said.
“This interrupted the logistics chains [të Rusisë] and prevents them from conducting active combat and covering our forces with shelling,” Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said on July 25.
These claims of Reznikov could not be independently confirmed.
Also on Monday, Russia’s Defense Ministry claimed that its forces destroyed an ammunition depot where US HIMARS were located in Bogdanovtsi, Helnitsky region of Ukraine.
Even these Russian claims could not be independently confirmed.
Last week, the United States announced that it will send four more HIMRAS systems to Ukraine, after having previously sent 12 more.
Ukraine has said that the use of High Mobility Artillery Systems (HIMARS) is making a difference on the battlefield. These systems are more precise and have a longer range than the Soviet systems that Kiev has in its arsenal./REL
