Britain’s Armed Forces Secretary has warned that bombs could be dropped on Ukraine within minutes if ordered by Vladimir Putin.
On Friday, James Heappey said all Britons should leave Ukraine immediately. After that he spoke to Sky News saying: “My fear is that it could happen very soon, but that does not mean it will definitely happen. “This is a warning because a few minutes after Putin gives the order, missiles and bombs may land in Ukraine.”
“We changed our advice because there are over 130,000 Russian troops on the border with Ukraine and several thousand at sea, so the UK is looking at how Russia has delivered combat equipment, fuel and supplies of medicines and war-ready assets.” said among others the British minister.
Heappey added that the UK will support Ukraine. There was confusion over the weekend as the Ukrainian ambassador to the UK said Kiev was ready on its intention to join the military alliance.
