A peace deal has been put on the Russia-Ukraine negotiating table, but its progress depends on whether the Kremlin will accept a ceasefire, says Ukraine’s defense ministry.
Oleksiy Reznikov, who is leading the Ukrainian delegation, said the work is continuing, but Russia must stop bombing in order to reach a compromise.

“We will, of course, first talk about a ceasefire and humanitarian corridors, as well as assistance to civilians with water, food, and maybe then we can sign a peace agreement.Said Reznikov.
Meanwhile in peace talks, Turkey is seeking to take its share. Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said they hoped a ceasefire would be reached after meeting with counterpart Dmytro Kuleba in Lviv.
“If an agreement is reached on the issues on which we see a rapprochement, there is a possibility that the two leaders Putin and Zelnsky will meet. “In my talks in Moscow yesterday, I saw that the Russian Federation had no objection to this and that they could accept such a proposal.”said the Turkish minister.
Çavuşoğlu’s visit to Ukraine follows Turkey’s efforts to position itself as a mediator in the conflict, asserting itself on the international stage. The Russian invasion of Ukraine is also threatening to become an internal problem for Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, as Russia and Ukraine secure the vast majority of Turkey’s grain supplies.
