Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Saturday that sanctions against Russia must be made public before a possible invasion of Ukraine takes place, or else nothing will be of any value.
Zelensky told CNN that he disagreed with the view that sanctions should be imposed only after a possible Russian invasion.
“We need to know what will happen if they start a war. “We do not need your sanctions after the bombings happen and our country is shot down or we no longer have borders, why would we need those sanctions then?” Said the Ukrainian president.
The latest estimates from the US government suggest that up to 190,000 Russian troops have now been deployed along the Ukrainian border.
“Evidence shows that Russia is planning” the biggest war in Europe since 1945, “said Prime Minister Boris Johnson.
