A large fire broke out this Wednesday in Lesvos, Greece, in the northern region of Vrisas.
This area was engulfed by flames a few days ago, while the air force joined in extinguishing them.
The wind is blowing in the position from Lagada between Vrisas and Polichnitos which further favored the propagation of the flames in the cutting direction.
Currently, the residents of the villages of Vrisa and Stavros have been evacuated as the large fire in the area’s forest was dangerously close to the settlements.
Firefighters have warned that areas in Attica, Evia, Boeotia, Argolis, Corinth, Arcadia, Fthiotida, Evros and the North Aegean islands are at risk of fires.
