The second war crimes trial in Ukraine has found two Russian soldiers, Alexander Bobikin and Alexander Ivanov, guilty of 12 years in prison.
Prosecutors said the bombings destroyed an educational institution in Derhaci.
“I am completely guilty of the crimes I have been accused of. “We shot Ukraine,” Bobikin told the court.
While Ivanov said: “I regret and ask for a reduction of the sentence.”
A defense lawyer sought a lenient sentence, saying the soldiers had simply followed orders.
There was no immediate comment from Russian officials and the final decision is expected on May 31.
A Ukrainian court sentenced a Russian soldier to life in prison on Monday for killing an unarmed civilian. Russia said it had no information about the trial and that the lack of a diplomatic mission in Ukraine limited its ability to provide legal aid.
Many more such trials are expected in both Ukraine and Russia, with the latter denying targeting civilians or being involved in war crimes.
