The government has approved in the last meeting two photovoltaic parks that will be built in the area of Korça with an installed capacity of 20MW.
The Minister of Energy, Belinda Balluku explained that these two private projects will be built without budget support from the state.
“We have approved today two photovoltaic parks, which will be built in the region of Korca, each of 20 MW, without financial support from the Albanian state, ie a totally private investment. It is an investment by local entities, but coincides with a very difficult situation in terms of electricity. The Albanian state benefits from this as 2% of the energy produced during the year is given to the state in the form of product or in the form of payment, ie in the form of rent. ”
Meanwhile, with the decision of the Council of Ministers, the imbalances caused by the priority producers in the energy system will be paid by themselves and no longer by the public operators, who have borne the costs so far.
“All entities that produce energy, ie are defined as priority producers of electricity will pay these imbalances, which is undoubtedly a symbolic price in terms of megawatts / hour, but which sound the power system and the finances of state-owned companies that they operate in this system “, said Balluku.
Another draft decision is related to a hydrocarbon agreement for natural gas fields in Frakull and Polcevo, for the development and production of hydrocarbons in these areas.
“Both gas fields that were owned by Albppetrol are being transferred to private entities for revitalization. Only in the exploration phase, investments of 500 thousand USD are foreseen for each source, an important investment in the conditions of the crisis “, explained Balluku.
