The Turkish Defense Ministry has released footage of its military offensive against Kurdish forces in northern Iraq.
Ankara launched its latest campaign yesterday against militants it considers terrorists.
Turkey is a member of NATO and called its attack a “special operation.”
The video footage showed fighter jets, attack helicopters and artillery. Turkish ground forces were also seen in action during the footage shot in most cases with the view in the dark.
The Turkish operation across the border hit Kurdish militants in northern Iraq.
Ankara considers the Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK) and the Kurdish People’s Defense Units (YPG) terrorist organizations. Yesterday’s operation focused on the Metina, Zap, and Avasin-Basyan regions, according to Kurdish military authorities.
