One of the Ukrainian negotiators in talks with the Russians has been killed by the Security Service after allegedly betraying the country by communicating with Russia.
According to Ukrainska Pravda sources, Denys Kireev, a member of the Ukrainian negotiating delegation that met with Russia in Belarus, was shot dead by Ukrainian Security Service officers.
Denys Kireev was killed during an attempt to arrest him on charges of treason.
Meanwhile, Vladimir Putin told German Chancellor Olaf Scholz on Friday that a third round of talks was scheduled for this weekend.
But Foreign Minister Lavrov said at noon on Saturday that no date had been set. He accuses the Ukrainian president of trying to get Russia into war with NATO. The previous two rounds were held in Belarus, without result.
The UN Security Council is also expected to convene on Monday to discuss the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine at the request of the United States and Albania.
