A serious incident occurred in the early hours of this morning in Gjakova.
It is learned that a little 11-year-old girl lost her life as a result of the fire that engulfed the apartment in which she lived.
The spokesperson of the Regional Police Directorate in Gjakova, Sheremet Elzaj, told KosovaPress that they were notified about the event around 01:40 for the apartment which is located on “Yll Morina” street.
“In the apartment in question after extinguishing the fire was found the body of a female / Kosovar victim born in 2011 for which the medical team has ascertained her death. Relevant police units went to the scene and the State Prosecutor was notified with their recommendation, in which case ‘Investigation of Death’ and ‘Arson’ was initiated. “The lifeless body was sent to IML for autopsy”, said Elezaj.
Firefighters also went to the scene while together with the police they had evacuated other residents of the same apartment block.
