A mother of five from California has died after a macabre fall from her 30th birthday bus where she was celebrating with family and friends, her stunned relatives said.
29-year-old Heather Garcia, was jumping on the holiday bus late Saturday when she suddenly crashed and fell on Highway 101 in downtown Los Angeles where she was hit by another oncoming vehicle, the network reported CBS Los Angeles .
The tragic woman had five children from 1 to 10 years old. She was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said.
Garcia, who turned 30 on Monday, was having fun on the holiday bus with friends and family, including her granddaughter who also had a birthday.
“They had gone out on the bus, according to the information they have, she was jumping and fell,” said the woman’s brother Juan, stunned.
The unfortunate woman had fallen crashing into the door of the bus, which had been opened by force, leaving the victim to fall out, her brother recounts.
“I do not know how the door was opened, no one knows how the door was opened. “The door should not have been open,” he added.
Garcia leaves behind her husband Rafael Corral, and the couple’s five young children.
“What we thought would be a fun evening was a tragic end for us,” Corral wrote on an online fundraising site.
“She had a big heart, she was my rock, my best friend, she kept us together for us and our family.”
“It seems like it came out of a nightmare,” Corral writes.
The driver of the vehicle that tragically hit Garcia on the road, stopped and cooperated with the authorities’ investigation, according to the KABC network. Authorities have not reported any charges.
