Road safety expert, Artur Sulçe estimates that the speed of the vehicle that fell yesterday in the Osum River resulting in the death of two people was normal, but the whole problem lies in the poor quality of the protective barrier.
Invited this morning to “Wake up”, the expert said that if the barrier were within the standards, today we would talk only about material damage, not about two dead. He said that barrier had to withstand up to 40 tonnes, but fell as soon as the vehicle bumper touched it.
“It was a normal speed. The reason for the deviation may have been that the child may have moved, I think. An important element, we saw that the elements of road safety. That fence had to guard the vehicle. The speed was low. If it were within the standards, we would not have the tragic event. This is for my concept. Sex and insecurity, as long as irresponsible people, can happen even more serious events. As soon as I touched it, the corner, everyone left. This is the quality, this is Albania, this is the Renaissance. As if the wind had knocked him down. That barrier had to endure 40 tons. As he touched the bumper, the barrier fell“, Said the expert.
He added that the elements of road safety should be increased and other works outside the standards should not be allowed. The expert said that as long as citizens pay taxes, they should be protected on the streets.
“Road safety elements need to be increased. Do not allow work to be done with low standards. As long as we have non-professional people, this is how the whole of Albania will go. I call it family misery, I pay taxes to protect me from the mistakes I make. When you move on the street, how long do I pay taxes, you are obliged to insure me “.
Tragic accident happened at noon yesterday, where a 25-year-old woman traveling in a car with her 6-year-old son lost control of the vehicle and ended up in the Osum River. Both lost their lives in an accident that was allegedly caused by a wrong overtaking.
