Rapper Drakeo the Ruler has lost his life at the age of 28 after being stabbed in the backstage at a festival in Los Angeles. The “Talk to Me” rapper was scheduled to perform at the festival before being stabbed Saturday night.
According to the LA Fire Department, a man was transported to a local hospital in critical condition after being stabbed. Two sources confirmed for “PEOPLE” that the man transported by the festival was Drakeo the Ruler. It was initially reported that the rapper was seriously injured, then it was learned that he had passed away, while the reasons for the attack are still unknown.
Shortly after 22:00, attendees were notified that the festival had ended early before 50 Cent and Snoop Dogg were able to perform.
Drakeo, in charge of “Impatient Freestyle” and mixtape Cold Devil, was acquitted in 2019 on charges of aggravated murder and attempted murder after the murder of a 24-year-old in 2016, according to “The Los Angeles Times”. He was released from custody in November 2020 after reaching a plea agreement.
