A British tourist has been killed with a sickle in Thailand and another seriously injured when a local resident attacked him and his friend as they were playing loud music while sitting down drinking beer.
The victims were attacked late last night in the central city of Kanchanaburi, according to local media.
Police were called to the scene around 3:50 a.m. today and found the victim naked from the waist up, in shorts and in a pool of blood from a knife wound to the back.
His British companion was taken to hospital with serious injuries, local police said, adding that they had also found a sickle believed to be the weapon of the crime.
Police said they had arrested a 23-year-old local with a history of mental problems who was also injured after what looked like a knife duel that had occurred between the men.
The suspect had attacked the British duo after they were playing music on the radio in the early hours of Saturday morning.
Officials said the attack took place outside a rented room in Soi Sri Lanka, in the Kanchanaburi region.
Footage from the scene showed a large number of police officers passing between blood-stained walls and several empty beer bottles.
