Analyst Kreshnik Spahiu in a live link on Top Talk show on Top Channel commented on the official visit of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Tirana.
According to Spahiu, Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama is more Erdoganist than Erdogan, based on the authoritarian methods he is using during his leadership.
Spahiu says that he is a typical Balkan figure, who with power, system, regime, influence manages to control the game in a very interesting way.
“Is Rama a Erdogan? I would say that he is tougher than Erdogan, he has more authoritarian methods than he, he is typically a Balkan leader, who with power, system, regime, influence manages to control the game in a very interesting way. If there will be no health problems or broken relations with the US, Rama can go much longer than Erdogan in power due to especially recent schemes that are ‘crush the opposition’, the system of pluralism in Albania, electoral, politics. I think he is a Erdogan model, Balkan, but he will cross every possible limit of the imagination. Whether we like it or not, we are Balkan in the first place, our mentality is typical Balkan. “We are the last to represent change, the new, the last in the creation of the state, the liberation from the occupiers, the last to remove the communist system”, said Spahiu.
Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is on Monday for an official visit to Albania, his first for 2022.
He attended the handover ceremony of 522 key flats in Kurbin, rebuilt with Turkish government funding, following the November 26, 2019 earthquake that shook the country. During this meeting, seven agreements were also signed between the Turkish and Albanian governments.
